Water Dilutable Expoxy Coating(Hydracrete -ACR)

HYDRACRETE -ACR:Is a acrylic emulsion polymer based additive/modifier for cement (portland) based waterproofing and structural protective coating composition. It modifies / enhances the properties of cement such as bonding, impact, flexural and cohesive strength. Similarly it improves the toughness, abrasion, wear and water resistance of cement in plaster and concrete. Eventhough it makes the concrete/plaster waterproof. It retains the water vapour diffusion of the substrate. All these functions make HYDRACRETE - ACR unique and versatile cement compatible polymer so that it can be safely used for structural repairs and rehabilitation jobs.

Benefits
  • Easy to use.

  • Cement compatible in all proportions.

  • Bonds strongly to almost all building materials.

  • Resists hydrostatic water pressure and remains unaffected in continuous contact with water.

  • Weather durable - resist UV rays, dilute alkaline and acidic solutions and prevents substrate from erosion and corrosion.

  • Non toxic, nonhazardous-when exposed to fire does not generate toxic fumes.

  • Alllows trapped water vapour to excape and prevents blistering and peeling off problems.

End Uses
HYDRACRETE - ACR is suitable for, waterproofing of walls and sloppy roof terraces. Waterproofing of sunken portions of toilet, water tank (concrete), swimming pool and basement. Structural repairs and rehabilitation of building.

Direction for Use
Surface Cleaning
  • Surface preparation is very important to get the best result and to avoid failure. The substrate must be clean and free of dirt, grease, sludge, fungus, cement coating blistered and loose plaster etc. Moisture is necessary for effectiveness, therefore the substrate must be soaked and dampened with water. However streaming water must be diverted by creating drains. Do not apply the coating in rain. cracks must be sealed with suitable elastic sealant.

  • Mixing
    Mixing ratio for a coating
  • (a)Smooth finish Cement grey : HYDRACRETE - ACR

    • 1:1 Parts by weight

  • (b) Rough finishCement:sand 60-80#HYDRACRETE - ACR

    • 1:1:1 p.bpwt.

    Application
Apply the mixed material by brush on dampened surface to a uniform thickness. On drying for first coat for 5 to 6 hours damp the surface with water and apply second coat. Two or more coats are recommended.

    Coverage
    Smooth Finish
    • Highly absorbing surface 35 - 45 sq.ft / 2 kg. mix.

    • Poor absorbing surface 45 - 50 sq.ft / 2kg mix.

    Rough finish
    • Highly absorbing surface 20 -25 sq.ft /2 kg mix.

    • Poor absorbing surface 25 -30 sq.ft / 2 kg. mix

  • Plaster / Concrete: Mix 5 to 10 % HYDRACRETE - ACR first to the measured mixing water of plaster / concrete.

  • Curing Protect the applied coating from rain and traffic at least for 24 hours. During this period cover the coating with polyethylene sheet. Cure the coating for 3 to 4 days with wet jute burlap. After 3 days the coating shall be immersion under water.

  • Cleaning Tools and equipment to be cleaned with water when the material is in uncured state.

  • Storage & Shelf LifeStore in cool dry place. Shelf life is one year from the date of manufacture. Do not store in freezer and under direct sunlight.

  • Packing
    • 5,10,35 litres plastic jars and drum.

    Precautions
    • Do not dilute the material with water

    • Do not apply during rain

    • Do not apply on dry surface.
